The CARA (Catch And Release Angling) campaign was initiated by Commercial Marine in January 2011.  Commercial Marine as a company have realized how important it has become to conserve our fish stocks by practicing catch and release.

The first of our projects been the Penguin Research programme which analyzes the migration of the penguins in and around Algoa Bay and the effect that fishing has on the local colony.

The Fish Tagging and Fish Tracking programme which monitors our local fish species behaviour around South Africa.  This is proudly supported by SAIAB.

The aim of CARA Fishing Clinics is to educate and inform anglers the importance of catch and release encouraging the angler to rather take a photo of the catch than to take the catch.
