Pure
braided Dyneema® has very little stretch, excellent
strength to weight characteristics, and a very low
co-efficient of friction (very important in leech or
luff tabling).
It
is commonly used in the luff of high performance
asymmetrical spinnakers and as a leech line on large
grand prix mainsails & spinnakers.
Note
to Sail Makers: When
using as a leech line on large mainsails consider
securing the end of the leech line to a purchase line of
Braided Titan. This
will ensure that the line can be cleated.
(Due to it’s extremely low co-efficient of
friction Dyneema® should not be used in cleated
applications.)
