Tiger caught Friday 17 August at sundown, trolling a Rapala Barra Magnum 11cm red tiger
in the Zambezi, near Mwandi on the border between Namibia (Caprivi strip) and Zambia. The floodplains had already emptied into the river and the Zambezi was comparatively clear and low. We picked up most of our fish trolling the deeper areas with Rapala DT-16's, DT-6's and the BMAG-11. Colours mainly RCW - red crawdad, FT - fire tiger and P = perch or similar. We were based on the houseboat Pride of the Zambezi (book through prideofthezambezi@yahoo.co.uk or theprideofthezambezi@yahoo.com ). Time taken uncertain but short.
The tiger was released. Melissa is 13 years old. |
